Q: What does Guide Vocals mean?
A: Tracks listed with Guide Vocals are karaoke songs that also offer lead and backing vocals. The lead vocals on these tracks can be turned on or off as required.
NB: The term Guide vocals should not be confused with Guide Lyrics a feature that is available on ALL the karaoke tracks.

Q: How can I get song track updates for the player?
A: We publish updated song track library DVDs about every 8 or 9 months. The last update published in July added an additional 2,000 song tracks to the library – 500 English. In addition to updated central library discs, the player will also play CD+G discs and new titles are being released all the time.
The MDVD-388 update central library discs usually retail at about GBP £70 and come with new inserts for the Hard Copy Song Book. Upon release all existing owners of player will be notified by email that a new update is available and how, if required, they can purchase the new library disc.

Q: What is the quality of the song tracks like?
A: On this site we have tried to show typical examples of the quality of the song tracks you can expect from the inbuilt song tracks.  It should be noted that all tracks are in the style of the original recording artist and are NOT by the original artist.
As you will appreciate the player offers an enormous number of tracks (50,000 at the last count) and the quality does vary across them. As a general rule the song tracks with Guide Vocals are of the highest quality and compare very favorable with the professional CD+G tracks available from the likes of Sunfly etc. Other tracks while being of a reasonably high quality are probably more suited to home use than deployment in a professional karaoke setup.
We continually strive to improve the quality of the song tracks by adding additional Guide Vocal tracks and publishing library update discs on a regular basis.

Q: Why does the player not come with a Microphone?
A: Because the choice of a microphone to use with the player is very much a matter of personal taste and preference (eg corded or wireless etc), the player is NOT offered as standard with a microphone.
If you are looking for a reasonable quality vocal mic to go with your player we normally recommend our Karaoke Microphone products. These products tend to be fairly robust, being ideal for the somewhat harsh treatment a karaoke microphone may have to endure, and, with corded mics from £12.95+VAT and wireless radio mics (x2) from £79.95 +VAT, are reasonably priced! We normally have stock readily available so please do not hesitate to contact us for further details.

Q: Can the machine play CD+G karaoke discs?
A: Yes, the player will read and play CD+G formatted CDs, as well as normal Karaoke DVDs. However it should be noted that the advanced tempo and key changing functionality is only available when used with the MIDI DVD library disc.

Q: Does the Player interface with an amplifier system?

A: For an enhanced sound experience the sound can easily be routed through an external Hi-Fi / Amplifier & Speaker system (not included with the player).

Q: Can the Player support multiple video screens?
A: Yes, the player can support more than one video screen, however this has to be accommodated via a SCART splitter box (not included as standard with the player but available as option at our online shop).

Q: Are the song listings available electronically?
A: Song Books are downloadable in PDF format from the the web site
In instances where a client wishes to put together his own song book, on individual request, we can supply the individual language song listings as Microsoft Excel spreadsheet files.

Q: Can I get additional Song Books?
A: Each machine is shipped as standard with the hardcopy bound English Song Book. Additional Song Books can be downloaded in electronic PDF format from the web site. Where additional  hardcopy bound Song Books are required these can be purchased from us at £29.95 each + carriage and packing + VAT.

Q: Can the Song Library Disc be purchased separately?
A: In order to utilise the machine's library disc you must have a DigiLYF MDVD-388 player. The discs can not be read by any other Karaoke Machine. For DigiLYF player users update and replacement library discs can be supplied as required.

Q: What Video Backgrounds are available?
A: The machine is supplied as standard with two Song Library discs - L9 & L11. Each disc is identical in the song tracks they offer. The only difference being that the L9 disc offers MTV style background video, with the L11 disc delivering more traditional Landscape style video. The video that plays is on a 30 to 40 minute loop and plays independently in the background of any song being played. Where a User prefers not to utilise a background video a special burn version of the song library disc (L10) is available that will show a static black background (a common format prevalent with CD+G discs). Please contact us for further details and pricing.

Q: Any chance of a Demo?
A: Yes. Should you wish to have a look at a machine prior to purchase, we are more than happy for you to visit us in Bedford so that we can show you exactly what the machine will do. All we ask is that the visit is prearranged for a time suitable for all. Please contact us on 0870 240 6162 to agree an appropriate date and time.

Q: How are the Chinese Song Track lyrics displayed?
A: The Chinese track lyrics by default are displayed in mainland Traditional Chinese, however one of the unique features of this player is that, as an option,  you can also view the Chinese lyrics as romanised pinying characters. The tracks listed in the associated Song Book are presented in Simplified Chinese.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: Our preferred method of payment is via Credit Card through the Paypal online credit card processing system. PayPal’s credit card processing system is by far the most secure online payment mechanism on the web and offers for both the buyer and seller unrivalled credit card fraud protection. It should be noted that, contrary to popular belief, in order to use this system you do not have to create, or already have an existing, PayPal account. You can of course pay over the phone if your prefer.
In situations where credit card payment is not possible we will accept cheque payment or electronic bank funds transfer, however we will be unable to ship the goods until we are in receipt of cleared funds. Please contact us for further and bank details.
